What this work actually involves
A BIM modeller builds and maintains the model to a standard the whole project team can rely on. A coordinator sits a level above: running clash detection between disciplines, chairing coordination reviews, managing model federation, and keeping the information structure consistent as the project changes.
It is precise, collaborative work. You will spend as much time on naming conventions, worksets and information standards as on geometry, because the value of BIM is the data, not the picture.
